A Ministry of Salem Lutheran and St. John the Divine Lutheran Churches
The vision of Chicago Lutheran Classical Cooperative is to build a community for classical homeschool families on the far Southside of Chicago. This initiative is hosted by Salem Lutheran Church at 12951 Maple Avenue, Blue Island, Illinois.
Welcome to our community! The parents of Chicago Lutheran Classical Cooperative are excited to expand our class offerings for the 2024-25 school year.
Our community begins Mondays together with Chapel in the Salem Lutheran sanctuary. Together, we hear God’s Word and sing Matins (morning prayer). Pastor Nicholson teaches us through a brief sermon and often shares about the week’s upcoming feasts or other significant events in the church year. The chapel service is distinctly Lutheran, but welcoming to all Christian families.
Our primary students (pre-Kindergarten – 2nd grade) participate in enrichment studies, including a weekly read-aloud with corresponding craft and poetry, art and music appreciation, manners, health & safety, and a show & tell time. They are also encouraged to join in for the nature & bird study during our second class period. For more information and a materials list, please click the link below.
